Bruno Genero. Foto Davide CarrariConceived on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the "Afro e oltre… e altro festival", "Hommage- the sound that dances" wishes to represent the indissoluble bond in tradition between African music and dancing like the new urban trends (hip-hop, street dance, ragga, Krumping, dance all, raggaeton ) and to underline the possible dialogue between gestural expressiveness and apparently different kinds of music, in the name of a common root.

In HOMMAGE, the inspiration at the rituals of the NOUBA (Sudan) meets the dance and the black urban dances, building a rhythmic language filled with contemporary sounds which create an ideal bond between the village and the street, the ritual and the metropolis with a free creativity open to new horizons.

Bruno Genero, vibrant musician for dance collaborates with interpreters of international fame :

SEKOUBA BAMBINO DIABATE
( Guinea ), a talented and esteemed contemporary African griot-singer , a holder of vocal secrets and open to new trends

BALE DE RUA
( Minas Gerais- Brazil ), the male vigour of Afro- Brazialian street dance

( Perů- Italy), the joining of man and woman in a two step

The grooves of the music blend into the choreography to give origin to the SOUND THAT DANCES!

The music, based exclusively on percussion and voice, is composed and arranged by Master Bruno Genero.
